Two gang usb socket

Even before we bought the caravan, I knew the standard single socket wouldn’t be enough, and always planned to change it.

I liked the idea of being able to have USB charging too, so I started searching for a suitable replacement, and came across this matt black and chrome socket that compliments the black and chrome of the oven. One ebay purchase later and it arrived ready to be installed along with a back box to keep everything safe.

Now I’ve made one of those cardinal mistakes of not taking a before picture, someone only just reminded me to do that not 24 hours ago! So all you’ll see is the removed socket and the hole left behind…

It was just a case of carefully marking out how much to cut away to recess the new socket, I used a hack saw blade and drill to make the opening, with a bit of fine adjusting to get a nice tight fit, and using the centre cut out in the back box to feed the wires in. A simple but satisfying job, just got to remember how many amps I’m using at once when on hookup.
